Yayo’s Run gears up for 18th annual benefit ride

Yayo’s Run participants go for a ride to raise money for those in need in a previous year. Back in its 18th year, Yayo’s Run will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 9. This year’s ride will benefit Devin Busby, from Duncan, who has Ewing Sarcoma Cancer.

Every year for the past 18 years, local residents have teamed up and gathered together in September for a bike ride to help benefit a charity or cause. This year, the annual Yayo’s run will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Yayo’s Run is a motorcycle ride to raise money for people who have been affected by cancer, as well as to help out with the medical, travel or daily expenses.

As in years past, the community submits names of people who need help and then each year, a person is selected based on who needs it most.

This year’s ride will benefit Devin Busby, from Duncan, who has Ewing Sarcoma Cancer.

The raffle item this year will feature a “Soft Tail Standard 2007 Harley Davidson” (22,832 miles) and proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Busby family as well. Raffle tickets are $20 for one ticket.

Those interested in joining in this event can meet at 411 S. Broadway in Marlow. The run will kick off at 11 a.m. and will ride to Diamondback Harley Davidson in Lawton for lunch and drinks. Then, the ride will head to Medicine Park.

Following the ride, participants will meet back in Marlow at 4 p.m. for dinner. The dinner is all you can eat. The cost for the event is $25 for a single and $30 for a couple.

If people don’t want to ride, but want to join in for music, food and fun, they can do so at 4 p.m. at 411 S. Broadway in Marlow.

The evening will also include live music and a silent auction.
